Chopped

My headphones blew out last evening while Sarah and I were at the gym, so I was treated to an hour or so of CNN entertainment "news" while I pedaled away on the stationary bike... to hell with sleep deprivation and loud music; if you really want to break the will of a terror suspect, subject them to THAT particular combination of stimuli.

The centerpiece of the show was the recent NCAA decision on Indian mascots, which seems like a timid step in the right direction. CNN's framed the issue as a case of political correctness run amok, which was shocking considering how liberal the media is (snort), but most uses of Native Americans or Native American imagery in sports are so belittling that I can't help but be completely dumbfounded by that response. The difference between the Cleveland Indians mascot and 'picaninny' imagery is marginal at best; is it really that hard to see the issue here?
